Alex and Jess THomas | Team Leaders
Alex and Jess graduated from Cal Poly, SLO in 2015 and have lived in the Bay Area since. Alex graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and moved to Silicon Valley where he worked in Construction Management for three years. Alex enjoys running, biking, hiking, reading, cooking, and camping in his free time. Jess graduated with a degree in Business Marketing. She interned with Cru for a year at Cal Poly then moved to San Francisco with a job in recruiting. Most recently she worked at a nonprofit doing volunteer management and event planning in Silicon Valley before joining full time staff with Cru. Jess enjoys biking, exploring, trying new foods, and any excuse to get friends together. Alex and Jess are excited to lead the team at UC Berkeley!
Kyle Wietsma | STAFF MEMBER
Kyle graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2018, and just recently moved from New England to the Bay Area. He graduated with a degree in Finance and began working with Cru after graduation. He has spent time on staff both domestically and overseas, and is excited to be a part of the movement in Berkeley! Kyle enjoys playing sports, reading, exploring new places, and eating good food in large quantities. He is excited to connect with you!
Daniel curran | STAFF MEMBER
Daniel graduated from Biola University with a degree in Communications; and from Regent College at the University of British Columbia with a Masters in Christian Studies. He's served at Ohio State University, Idaho State, University of Washington and San Jose/San Francisco State. He lives in Martinez, CA with his wife Margee. In his free time, Daniel enjoys hiking, coffee, and cultural exploration. Together, Daniel and Margee enjoy travel, gardening and spending time with their family. Daniel is excited about getting to know the students, faculty and staff at UC Berkeley!
Ariana Alvarez | Intern
Ariana is a Berkeley Alumn, class of 2023. She majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Global Management. She loves to travel and rewatches the same rom-coms for comfort. Ariana also enjoys playing card games and board games with her friends and family. Most importantly, Ariana loves the Lord and desires to honor God with her whole life.
Braeden schulman | intern
Braeden just finished her last semester at Berkeley and graduated with her degree in Chemical Engineering. She enjoys reading, perusing the Trader Joe’s isles, staying in and watching movies, and spending quality time with friends. She has been deeply impacted by the community Cru provides and is excited to continue serving Jesus in Berkeley!
Caleb Alldrin | Part-time
After graduating from SFSU, Caleb & his wife Alexius spent 7 years on staff in SF doing campus ministry. In 2023 they moved to Berkeley where Caleb joined the Berkeley Cru team part-time and also works on a Cru national team creating web and mobile apps to help missionaries be more effective. Caleb is an enneagram 1 and an INTJ. He enjoys mangos, hiking, and swimming in clear water.
